The Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill is one of the most innovative pieces of training equipment available today. This is the first treadmill of its kind in Schuylkill County, and one of only a few located in Pennsylvania. This "Game-Changer" is revolutionizing the way that the world rehabs and trains by making it possible to run or walk with reduced impact. Through the use of NASA technology, the user is "un-weighted" by up to 80% of their body weight thereby reducing stress and strain on the body. Things that previously may not have been possible for some individuals, like running without pain, and training through injuries, may now be possible with this cutting-edge device.

The Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill is currently being used by leading hospitals throughout the country such as the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. It is also used in nationally known rehabilitation centers including the National Rehab Hospital in Washington D.C., and the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Centers. Several professional sports teams are currently using the Alter G, and it is a primary training and rehabilitation tool in US Olympic training facilities.

The user's lower body is secured in a zippered compartment and differential air pressure is used to create an environment of weightlessness of up to 80% of the user's bodyweight, therefore allowing the person to feel like they are in a gravity eliminated environment.

Designed for use by individuals of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels, the Anti-Gravity Treadmill is the first FDA-cleared therapeutic device created for precise partial weight bearing exercise. It is ideal for post-surgical rehabilitation, gait training for neurological patients, minimizing stress-related and recurring injuries, strength and conditioning for older patients, and reduced impact training and conditioning for athletes.

A noteworthy feature of Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center's Alter G treadmill is the specially designed Lift Access. This lift access provides extra support for low functioning patients and adds a sense of security for users allowing them to focus on training without the fear of falling. This lift access also allows patients that need extra support the opportunity to start their rehabilitation sooner.
