The pool temperature is maintained between 92 to 96 degrees Fahrenheit to promote relaxation and decrease pain. Patients only need to bring their swimsuit or shorts and t-shirt. Soap and towels are provided.

The ability to swim or the comfort with swimming is not a prerequisite for participation in our aquatic therapy program. Aquatic therapy has shown to be an outstanding therapeutic benefit and our specially trained therapists provide a variety of Physical Therapy needs. The incorporation of aquatic therapy into a comprehensive integrated land-pool rehabilitation program has resulted in overall improved function for patients. A licensed therapist will establish your individualized exercise program.

Aquatic therapy enables patients to initiate exercise through the properties of water. The buoyancy of water reduces the gravitational pull that can reduce compression forces on the joints. This also enables more movements that may be otherwise too difficult because of gravity. In the reverse the water can be used as a resistant force to strengthen muscles.
